5.6 billion KRW (about $4.20 million) invested…Within walking distance of Sinpo Market
Incheon City has opened a 126-space public parking facility to address parking congestion around Chinatown and Sinpo-dong. The lot is located in Hang-dong 4-ga, Jung-gu. City officials constructed a two-story (three-tier) building on a 2,174 m² site (about 23,401 sq ft), investing 5.6 billion KRW (about $4.20 million). The facility is within walking distance of Sinpo Market and Chinatown, improving access for visitors.
The city will operate the lot free of charge through the end of June. Beginning in July, parking will be paid: 600 KRW per 30 minutes (about $0.45), with an additional 300 KRW per 15 minutes (about $0.23). The daily rate is 6,000 KRW (about $4.50).
Officials say the new lot should reduce the workload for illegal parking enforcement and enhance pedestrian safety.
Alongside expanding public parking, the city is pursuing a broader strategy that includes repurposing school multipurpose facilities, promoting parking-sharing platforms, and introducing smart parking guidance systems.
