Namyangju City announced on May 14 that it held an on-site meeting with safety managers from major construction sites at the project office for the National Route 47 relocation.

The meeting aimed to prevent accidents around large construction sites and to enable relevant agencies to jointly assess and address site-specific risks.

Acting Mayor Kim Sang-soo attended, joined by city department officials, representatives from LH and GH, and site managers.

Participants reviewed the results of Namyangju City's 2026 special safety inspection and the key measures implemented. They also highlighted successful safety practices from individual sites and discussed ways to strengthen safety management at major projects.

Officials reexamined safety-management systems at principal large-scale projects, including the National Route 47 relocation, and discussed follow-up measures based on the inspection findings.

A site representative at the meeting said, \"Based on the special safety inspection results, we will promptly address vulnerabilities at each site and reinforce pre-work safety verification procedures.\"

Acting Mayor Kim Sang-soo said, \"Citizens' and workers' safety is more important than schedule or speed. A minor lapse at a construction site can lead to a major accident, so relevant agencies and contractors must repeatedly check for hazards and take swift on-site action. We must jointly uphold responsible safety management.\"

Namyangju City said it will apply the measures discussed at the meeting across sites and will continuously monitor implementation of follow-up actions from the special safety inspections. The city also plans to strengthen proactive safety management through sustained on-site communication with safety managers of major construction projects.
