Gwangju FC, in partnership with Gwangju Central Hospital, created unforgettable memories for local children.

The club invited 1,001 children and staff from the Gwangju branch of local children's centers to their 2026 Hana Bank K League 1 home opener. The match, pitting Gwangju against Incheon United, took place on March 7 at Gwangju World Cup Stadium.

This initiative was made possible through the sponsorship of Dr. Ko Gil-seok, CEO of Gwangju Central Hospital. The hospital's generous donation to Gwangju FC aimed to promote community health and foster cooperation, allowing these young fans to experience professional soccer firsthand.

The event was designed to provide local children with cultural and sporting experiences, encouraging healthy leisure activities. The youngsters in attendance were treated to an electrifying atmosphere, soaking in every moment of the thrilling match.

A club spokesperson expressed gratitude to Gwangju Central Hospital for their sponsorship, which provided this valuable experience for local children. They affirmed the club's commitment to continued community engagement and outreach programs.

Dr. Ko Gil-seok, CEO of Gwangju Central Hospital, stated, "As a healthcare provider deeply rooted in our community, we're proud to create these special memories for the children." He added, "We remain dedicated to supporting our community through various social initiatives."

The day proved even more memorable as Gwangju secured a hard-fought 3-2 victory over Incheon, capping off a perfect home opener for both longtime fans and the special young guests.
