The couple confirmed the pregnancy on the 17th, nearly three years after their wedding in May 2024.
Moon and Kim first drew public attention when they chronicled their courtship and married life on SBS’s variety series Same Bed, Different Dreams 2 – You Are My Destiny. The show also featured Moon’s younger brother, who has a developmental disability, serving as a flower attendant, which resonated with viewers.
Soon after tying the knot, the pair endured the loss of a pregnancy. They pursued treatments, including in vitro fertilization, but faced a difficult stretch. After taking a step back and lowering expectations for a time, they later learned they were expecting naturally.
“We feel especially grateful and tender toward this baby, who came after a hard period,” the couple said, adding that they have given the pregnancy the nickname \"Saengmyeong,\" which means \"life.\"
Moon Ji-in, who has broadened her range through recent roles and variety appearances, said the pregnancy represents another turning point. She is preparing for a new chapter as both an actress and a mother.
Moon has appeared in a range of projects — including the dramas Doctors, The Beauty Inside, and Kill Heel — and has drawn notice for her distinctive performances.
