ASL, played on Blizzard Entertainment's real-time strategy title StarCraft®: Remastered, launched its first season in 2016 and is now in its 11th year as Korea's only StarCraft esports league. The return of legendary players and a string of memorable matches have built a loyal fan base, making ASL SOOP's flagship esports property.
Under the annual sponsorship, ASL will stage outdoor finals for two consecutive seasons. The Season 21 final will be held on a temporary stage seating roughly 500 at the 2026 PlayX4 Gyeonggi eSports Festival, while the Season 22 final will take place on a temporary stage at the Jamsil Lotte World Ice Rink with about 1,000 seats.
Fans are especially excited because the Season 22 final at Jamsil Lotte World Ice Rink will mark the return of a large-scale offline final on a separate temporary stage for the first time since ASL Season 8.
The player lineup is drawing attention as well. Lee \"Final\" Young-ho is set to return, and StarCraft legends such as Lee Jae-dong, Kim Taek-yong, and Do Jae-wook will join the Season 21 main draw, promising intense competition.
SOOP and Google Play will run an event awarding Google Play Points to online viewers and on-site spectators who watch the live broadcasts during the tournament. Every ASL Season 21 match will be streamed live on SOOP's official ASL channel, where fans can also find the schedule and event details.
