[Sports Today reporter Sangpil Lee] The BNK Financial 2025–26 Women's Pro Basketball season is entering the regular season's final stretch. With teams playing 2–4 games apiece, the focus has shifted to individual awards, and the statistical leaderboards figure to be hotly contested through the finish.

In the scoring race, Samsung Life's Lee Haeran and Woori Bank's Kim Danbi are in a tight battle. As of March 10, Lee is averaging 18.15 points per game, just ahead of Kim's 17.89 — a 0.26-point margin. If Lee holds on to first place, she and KB Stars' Park Jisoo (debuted in 2016; scoring title winner in 2020–21) will share the distinction of being the fastest players to win a scoring title, achieving it in their fifth season.

The 3-point percentage race is equally close. KB Stars' Lee Chae-eun leads at 39.81% as she chases her first career statistical award, while Woori Bank's Onizuka Ayano is right behind at 38.61%, trailing by 1.20 percentage points.

Samsung Life's Bae Hyeyun tops the free-throw percentage category at 90.32%. She holds a 1.80 percentage-point lead over teammate Kang Yurim (88.52%). Bae, who debuted in the 2007–08 season, is pursuing her first statistical award 18 years into her career.

Meanwhile, the South Korean women's national team, aiming for a 17th consecutive appearance at the FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup, will compete in the final qualifying tournament in Lyon, France, starting on the 12th (KST). Drawn into Group B with France, Germany, Nigeria, Colombia and the Philippines, South Korea would become the first Asian nation to reach 17 straight Women's Basketball World Cups if it secures qualification for the main event.
