BMW Group Korea said on May 14 that it held a donation ceremony on May 13 at the Incheon Fire Department in Michuhol District, where it handed over two all‑electric BMW iX1 Sports Activity Vehicles (SAVs).

The donated vehicles will be used for routine patrols of fire‑vulnerable areas, safety support at large events, assistance for residents affected by fires, on‑scene administrative work, and public safety education programs. They will also be deployed to deliver and install firefighting equipment for vulnerable populations.

The company said the donation was made to support fire‑response organizations that operate on the front lines of public safety. BMW Group Korea expects the vehicles to improve mobility and operational efficiency during emergency responses.

Han Sang‑yoon, CEO of BMW Group Korea, expressed gratitude to firefighters for their dedication to protecting lives and public safety. “BMW Group Korea will continue to fulfill its social responsibilities as a corporate citizen in Korea and sustain collaboration with public‑safety institutions, including the Incheon Fire Department,” he said.

BMW Group Korea has maintained an ongoing partnership in fire‑safety initiatives. Last year, the company provided driving training for local paramedics at the BMW Driving Center on Yeongjong Island; this year it has run programs on electric‑vehicle fire response and fire‑safety training.

The company also supplied training vehicles for an electric‑vehicle safety and rescue seminar hosted by the Korea Transportation Safety Authority in Jeju, and donated 1,150 vehicle refrigerators/freezers to the National Fire Agency for use in firefighting and emergency response nationwide.

It continues to provide free parts replacement support for seven BMW X5 vehicles previously donated to the Seoul Fire & Disaster Headquarters. In March, BMW Group Korea donated 500 million KRW (about $375,000) to the Hope Bridge National Disaster Relief Association to aid recovery from a large wildfire.
