[Sports Today reporter Lee Sang-pil] The Taekwondo Promotion Foundation (Chairman Kim Jung-heon), certified by the Ministry of Education (Minister Choi Gyo-jin) as both an "Outstanding Education Donation Institution" and an "Education Donation Career Experience Institution," is launching the 2026 Taekwondo Career Experience Program and is now accepting applications from schools and organizations.

Applications are open through the 31st of this month for elementary, middle and high schools nationwide, as well as youth not enrolled in school. Schools that received the official recruitment notice should complete the attached application form and submit it by email. If a school did not receive the notice, it can download the form from the Ministry of Education’s career experience website "Kkumgil," fill it out, and email it in.

The Taekwondo Career Experience Program is offered in two formats: an on-site, instructor-led session where foundation coaches visit a school or organization (3 hours), and a visit-to-the-Taekwondowon session (4 hours). Programs will begin in May and are scheduled to match each school's or organization's preferred dates.

The foundation plans to select 23 schools and organizations nationwide. Selection will give weight to locations with limited access to physical education—such as islands, mountainous areas, and border regions—so students are not excluded from career education due to geography.

Last year, 7,028 students participated, including those from Kimhwa Girls’ Middle School in Cheorwon County, Gangwon Province, and Jongdal Elementary School in Jeju. In 2024, the foundation visited Baengnyeong Elementary School on Baengnyeong Island to provide taekwondo experiences and career-planning support, underscoring the program’s public-service mission.

"We developed this hands-on program so young people can build physical fitness and explore a variety of careers related to taekwondo," Kim Jung-heon, chairman of the Taekwondo Promotion Foundation, said. "We will go anywhere in the country—from Baengnyeong Island to Jeju—to promote the value and pride of taekwondo."

The Taekwondo Career Experience Program pairs career education with practical activities: participants learn basic taekwondo stances, practice kicking using training equipment, and take part in taekwondo calisthenics set to music.
