[Sports Today reporter Kang Tae-gu] Kim Si-woo climbed into a tie for 33rd after the third round of the PGA Tour's Players Championship (total purse 25 million USD (approximately 33.33 billion KRW)).

On March 15 (Korean time) at TPC Sawgrass' Stadium Course (par 72) in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, Kim fired a 4-under 68 in Round 3, carding six birdies and two bogeys.

After sitting T51 through two rounds, Kim moved up to T33. He's just two strokes back of the group tied for 19th, keeping him within reach of a solid finish.

He opened the round with a bogey at No. 1, birdied the 3rd, then dropped another shot at the 4th.

Kim closed the front nine with a birdie at No. 9 and carried that momentum into the back nine, adding birdies at the 10th, 15th and 16th.

He picked up one more stroke at the 18th and finished 4-under for the day.

Meanwhile, Ludvig Aberg of Sweden, who held the solo lead after two rounds, shot 1-under on the day to remain atop at 13-under 203, three strokes ahead of American Michael Thorbjornsen.

Cameron Young is third at 9-under 207, while Xander Schauffele and others are fourth at 8-under 208.

Rory McIlroy, who was chasing a second consecutive Players title, slipped to a tie for 57th.
