[SPOTV News=Gwangju, Reporter Hye-mi Kwak] The semifinal of the third Presidential Cup National Youth Baseball Tournament, pitting Daegu Namdo Elementary against Seoul Gadong Elementary, was played at Mudeung Baseball Stadium in Gwangju on the morning of May 14.
In the top of the first inning, Daegu Namdo’s Hong Ihan stepped to the plate against Seoul Gadong starter Kim Geon-woo.
The Korea Baseball Softball Association (KBSA), chaired by Yang Hae-young, kicked off the tournament on May 5 at Mudeung Baseball Stadium. The Gwangju Metropolitan City Baseball and Softball Association is co-hosting the event.
The 11-day tournament runs through May 15 and brings together last year’s top elementary school and youth club teams, all vying for the national youth baseball crown.
