Nongshim RedForce's Coach Dandy Reflects on LCK Loss: What Went Wrong Against Gen.G?

농심After falling to Gen.G Esports, Nongshim RedForce coach 'Dandy' Choi In-kyu expressed his disappointment.

Nongshim dropped a 0–2 decision to Gen.G on the afternoon of the 26th at the LCK Arena in LoL Park, Grand Seoul, in Seoul's Jongno district. The loss leaves Nongshim at 4 wins, 4 losses (0) on the season, keeping them from moving up the standings.

After the match, Choi said, "I'm disappointed. The two games felt different. In the first game we had a turning point where we could have won, but we failed to capitalize on the opportunity the opponent gave us. The ban-and-pick phase in the second game was much tougher."

He added that the team tried to prioritize value over lane priority, and that the second game became difficult because all three lanes were put under pressure.

When asked what the team needs to fix, Choi emphasized, "As I mentioned, when we're ahead we don't properly exploit the opponent getting sloppy. We could have taken control of the turns and denied them chances, but we missed many opportunities in the first game. We also could have handled the third and fourth dragon fights more calmly instead of getting flustered. If we correct those issues, we can win games like the first."

Nongshim's next opponent is T1. Choi vowed that the team will address the same weaknesses shown in this match so they can display an improved Nongshim performance regardless of the opponent.
