[MyDaily = Reporter Lee Jung-won] Hanwha’s Futures team is off to a strong start.

Manager Lee Dae-jin’s Hanwha Futures squad blanked Doosan 9-0 on the 30th at Icheon Bears Park in the 2026 Mediheal KBO Futures League. The win pushed Hanwha to 7-2 and extended their streak to five games, trimming the gap to Northern League leader Sangmu (7-1) to just a half-game.

The organization’s big-league club, led by Kim Kyung-moon, also opened the season on a high note with back-to-back wins over the Kiwoom Heroes (10-9, 10-4), and the Futures’ victory gave Hanwha fans more reason to celebrate.

In the fourth, consecutive errors by Doosan second baseman Lee Seon-woo allowed Park Jeong-hyun and Yoo Ro-gyeol to reach base. With two outs and runners on first and second, Han Ji-yun drilled a two-run double. Han Kyung-bin followed with an RBI to make it 3-0. In the fifth, Bae Seung-su homered and Yoo added an RBI single, and Bae drove in another run in the sixth to make it 6-0.

Hanwha added another big inning in the eighth when Doosan’s command faltered. Bae’s RBI groundout and Park Jeong-hyun’s two-RBI hit put the game out of reach and extinguished any Doosan comeback hopes.

The offense got contributions across the lineup: Park Jeong-hyun (1 hit, 2 RBIs, 1 run), Yoo Ro-gyeol (2 hits, 1 RBI, 1 run), Han Ji-yun—recently converted from catcher to outfield—(2 hits, 2 RBIs, 3 runs) and Bae Seung-su (2 hits, 3 RBIs, 1 run). Bae leads the Futures League with a .556 average, collecting 10 hits, 1 home run, 7 RBIs and 3 runs in eight games.

On the mound, starter Jang Yu-ho threw three scoreless innings, allowing three hits and striking out two. Relievers Kim Beom-jun (1 scoreless inning), Han Seo-gu (2 scoreless innings), Um Yo-seop (2 scoreless innings) and Park Sang-won (1 scoreless inning) combined to preserve the shutout.

For Doosan, starter Yoon Tae-ho delivered three scoreless innings, but third-round rookie Seo Jun-oh, who came in as the second pitcher, took the loss after allowing five hits (including a home run), striking out one and giving up five runs (two earned) in two innings. Fourth reliever Lee Joo-yeop also struggled, issuing three walks and allowing three runs in 2/3 of an inning.
