[Sports Today reporter Sang-pil Lee] Lee "Hot Six" Jeong-eun6 signaled a comeback with a victory on the U.S. LPGA Epson Tour.

On March 16 (Korean time), Lee shot a 6-under 65 in the final round of the IOA Golf Classic at Alacour Country Club in Longwood, Florida (par 71, 6,182 yards). She recorded an eagle, seven birdies and three bogeys in the round. The tournament carried a US$200,000 (approximately 266,666,667 KRW) purse.

Lee finished at 13-under 200, edging Jeon Ji-won by one stroke; Jeon closed at 12-under 201.

Lee owns six KLPGA titles. She joined the LPGA in 2019, captured her first LPGA victory at the U.S. Women’s Open and was that season’s Rookie of the Year.

She didn’t win again after 2019. Last year she played 19 events, made just six cuts and finished 124th on the money list, ultimately losing her LPGA Tour card. She is competing on the Epson Tour this season.

After missing the cut at the Atlantic Beach Classic earlier this month, this victory gives her a timely boost.

A top-15 finish on the Epson Tour points list this season would earn her LPGA status for next year.

Jeon shot an 8-under final round to climb to 12-under 201 and settled for runner-up.
