Gen.G Esports dominated Kiwoom DRX at the LCK’s first overseas roadshow.
On the 8th in Hanoi, Vietnam, Gen.G recorded a 2-0 victory over Kiwoom at the LCK Roadshow hosted at the Vietnam Expo Center. The win extended Gen.G’s streak to six straight and moved them to 9-3 on the season (+11), just half a game behind second-place T1 (9-2, +12).
Kiwoom suffered its first loss at an LCK roadshow and slipped to 3-8 on the season (-10), remaining in ninth place.
In game one, Gen.G secured three kills in the first objective skirmish and followed up with a decisive bottom-lane fight at the 10-minute mark. During 'Canyon' Kim Geon-bu’s Pantheon top gank, they eliminated 'Rich' Lee Jae-won, and in a subsequent 4-v-3 clash at top, 'Canyon' grabbed a triple kill.
With control established early, Gen.G won a decisive mid-lane team fight at 23 minutes. Backed by Baron, they swept four kills in a brawl at Kiwoom’s top tier-three turret and closed out the game.
In game two’s opening stages, 'Canyon' Kim Geon-bu’s Naafiri gank took down 'Willer' Kim Jung-hyun’s Xin Zhao. In an objective skirmish, Kiwoom’s 'Ragephil' Tran Bao Min on Lucian managed to kill 'Ruler' Park Jae-hyuk’s Kog'Maw.
After a dominant mid-lane engagement in the midgame, Gen.G pushed bottom with the Baron buff but suffered heavy losses to a counterattack. They regrouped, then stormed Kiwoom’s base, wiped out the remaining defenders and finished the match.
