[Sports Today reporter Shin Seo-young] Kim Min-seon moved into sole possession of the lead after the second round of the KLPGA Tour's Nexen·Saint Nine Masters (total purse 1 billion KRW, approximately $750,000).

Kim carded a bogey-free 6-under 66 in the second round on the 18th at Gaya Country Club in Gimhae (par 72).

The score left her at 13-under 131 overall, turning a share of the lead into a one-stroke advantage.

Kim joined the KLPGA in May 2022 and collected her first tour victory last April at the Deoksin EPC Championship. She hasn't added another title since and will be chasing her first win of the season and the second of her career this week.

Starting on the par-4 first, Kim surged early with four straight birdies from the par-3 second through the par-4 fifth.

After a run of pars, she closed the round with birdies at the par-4 15th and the par-3 17th to post a clean second round.

Playing error-free over both days, Kim said, \"My shots were solid, so I rarely faced situations that could lead to a bogey. Unexpected birdies kept the momentum going, and overall I'm satisfied with my round.\"

She added, \"Staying patient is the most important thing. The course doesn't produce big score gaps, so I'm focusing on my own game and trying to keep steady scores. It's been a while since I've played in the final group, so I'm excited and looking forward to it.\"

Kim Min-byul and Jeon Ye-seong are tied for second at 12-under 132, one stroke behind Kim Min-seon.

Last year's champion Bang Shin-sil fired a course-record 9-under 63 on the day and climbed to solo fourth at 10-under 134.
