[SPOTV News — Daejeon] The KBO League reached the 2 million attendance mark this season faster than last year, when it became the first in league history to top 12 million fans. Last season it passed 2 million in 118 games; this year the milestone came in just 117 games, the fewest ever.

On the 25th, the KBO reported a total of 99,905 fans across five venues — Jamsil Baseball Stadium, Incheon SSG Landers Field, Gwangju Kia Champions Field, Gocheok Sky Dome and Daejeon Hanwha Life Ballpark. With that haul, cumulative attendance for the season reached 2,094,481, clearing the 2 million mark in 117 games.

Last year the league hit 2 million in 118 games. Final attendance totaled 12,312,519, up from 10,887,705 in 2024, and momentum suggests this season could draw even larger crowds.

On Saturday the 25th, four of the five stadiums were sold out. At Jamsil, 23,750 fans turned out for the dugout rivalry between the LG Twins and the Doosan Bears. LG capped the night with a dramatic ninth‑inning comeback to win 7-5.

At Gwangju Kia Champions Field, 20,500 fans watched a one-run classic as the KIA Tigers rallied past the Lotte Giants, 4-3.

In Gocheok, a full house of 16,000 saw the Kiwoom Heroes beat the Samsung Lions 4-2. The win pushed Kiwoom to a 4-1 record over their last five games.

In Daejeon, the Hanwha Eagles finally snapped a frustrating 10‑game home losing streak. Wilkel Hernandez delivered seven strong innings, allowing one run, and Kang Baek‑ho drove in five to power an 8-1 rout of the NC Dinos. Manager Kim Kyung‑moon said, "We snapped a long home skid. I want to thank the fans again for filling the ballpark with their support." Hanwha has sold out every home game this season.

The only venue that didn’t sell out, SSG Landers Field, still drew 22,655 fans, filling 98.5% of capacity. The SSG Landers beat the KT Wiz 3-1.
