Kiwoom topped Samsung 6-4 on April 24 at Seoul’s Gocheok Sky Dome in a 2026 Shinhan SOL KBO League matchup.
The win moved Kiwoom to 8-15, lifting them from 10th to ninth in the standings and leapfrogging the Lotte Giants (7-15). Samsung, meanwhile, dropped its fifth straight game and sits fourth at 12-1-9 (wins-ties-losses).
Brooks finished with one hit and three RBIs. Park Ju-hong had two hits and scored twice, while Im Ji-yeol and Kim Ji-seok each added two hits and one RBI. Starter An Woo-jin was sharp over three innings, allowing two hits, striking out six, walking one and giving up one run. Bae Dong-hyun followed with four innings of work, yielding seven hits and one run while striking out six and walking two to earn his fourth win of the season.

Samsung struck first in the top of the third. After two outs, Kim Ji-chan tripled and Park Seung-gyu doubled to put the Lions up 1-0.
Kiwoom answered immediately. With no outs and runners on second and third following hits from Oh Seon-jin and Park Ju-hong, Brooks’ sacrifice fly tied the game. An Chi-hong then delivered a run-scoring double to give Kiwoom a 2-1 lead.
Kiwoom kept the pressure on. With one out and a runner at second, Im Ji-yeol and Kim Ji-seok produced RBI hits to extend the lead to 4-1.
Samsung got one back in the top of the fifth when Ryu Ji-hyeok belted a solo home run.
Kiwoom put the game out of reach in the bottom of the sixth. An error, a Park Ju-hong walk and a wild pitch loaded the bases with no outs, and Brooks followed with a two-run single to make it 6-2 and seize control.
Samsung trimmed the deficit in the top of the eighth when pinch-hitter Kim Do-hwan hit a solo homer. In the ninth, Shim Jae-hoon’s single and Choi Hyung-woo’s double produced another run, but with one out and runners at first and second, Kang Min-ho and Kim Do-hwan struck out to end the threat. Kiwoom held on for a 6-4 victory.
