[Sports Seoul | Jamsil — Kang Yoon-sik] The Hanwha Eagles rode three massive homers — including one from returning No Si-hwan, 26 — to topple the LG Twins, 8-4, on April 23 at Seoul’s Jamsil Baseball Stadium in a 2026 KBO League regular-season matchup.

After losing the first two games of the series, Hanwha snapped a two-game skid, holding off an LG rally late to secure the win.

The offense clicked across the lineup, but No Si-hwan stole the spotlight. In the top of the fourth he hit his first home run of the season, a game-tying shot. He finished with two hits (including the homer), a walk, one RBI and one run. Yonathan Peraza and Moon Hyun-bin also connected for homers, helping seal the victory.

Lee Won-seok collected three hits to extend his strong run of form. Hwang Young-muk chipped in with a hit and two RBIs, while Heo In-seo added a hit and an RBI.

Hanwha turned this into a bullpen day. Starter Hwang Jun-seo got the ball initially, then Kim Seo-hyun, Jo Dong-wook, Park Sang-won, Jung Woo-joo, Lee Min-ho and Zack Cushing combined to hold the Twins to four runs.

LG struck first in the bottom of the first. Leadoff hitter Park Hae-min reached on an infield single to second and moved to second on an error. Moon Sung-ju’s sacrifice bunt left runners at the corners with one out. Austin Dean’s grounder glanced off the pitcher’s glove and became an infield hit in front of the shortstop, allowing Park to score and put LG up 1-0.

In the third, Shin Min-jae drew a leadoff walk. Park Hae-min hit a grounder to second that produced one out and forced the lead runner to advance. Moon Sung-ju struck out, but after Austin Dean was walked, Moon Bo-kyung delivered an RBI single to make it 2-0.

Hanwha answered in the top of the fourth. Peraza opened the inning with a solo homer to cut the deficit to one. With one out, No Si-hwan belted his first long ball of the season to tie it at 2-2. A single by Kang Baek-ho, a walk to Chae Eun-seong and an infield hit by Lee Won-seok loaded the bases with one out, and Heo In-seo’s sacrifice fly to left put Hanwha ahead, 3-2.

Hanwha added another run in the top of the fifth — again via the long ball. Moon Hyun-bin turned on a somewhat elevated 141 km/h fastball from Kim Jin-seong and sent a solo shot over the right-field wall to make it 4-2.

In the sixth, Chae Eun-seong drew a leadoff walk. Lee Won-seok struck out, but Heo In-seo followed with a single to left to put runners on first and second with one out. After Shim Woo-jun struck out, Hwang Young-muk ripped a base hit through the hole to the right of second, bringing both runners home and extending the lead to 6-2.

LG chipped away with a run in the bottom of the sixth, and Kang Baek-ho’s ninth-inning hit pushed the margin to 8-3. Austin Dean connected for a homer in the bottom of the ninth, but that was the final threat. Hanwha held on for an 8-4 victory. skywalker@sportsseoul.com
