[SPOTV News=Gocheok, Reporter Park Seung-hwan] Hanwha’s expensive duo — a combined ₩40.7 billion (approximately $30.525 million) — turned a pitchers’ duel into a rout. Noh Si-hwan’s first-inning grand slam put Hanwha in control early, and Kang Baek-ho added a crucial homer later as the Eagles rolled to their third straight win.
Hanwha beat the Kiwoom Heroes 11-5 on May 12 at Seoul’s Gocheok Sky Dome in the 2026 Shinhan Bank SOL Bank KBO League, handing Kiwoom their second loss of the season series.

The game tilted in Hanwha’s favor from the first pitch. Leadoff hitter Hwang Young-mook drew a hit-by-pitch off Kiwoom starter Bae Dong-hyun, and Yonathan Peraza followed with a base hit. After Kang Baek-ho walked to load the bases with one out, Noh Si-hwan took Bae’s first pitch — a 144 km/h fastball (about 89.5 mph) — and launched a grand slam for his third career four-bagger.
Hanwha kept coming. With the next inning’s sequence starting from no runners, Lee Jin-young and Kim Tae-yeon ripped consecutive hits to put runners at the corners, and Choi Jae-hoon followed with a sacrifice fly to extend the lead.
From there it became one-sided. In the bottom of the second, Mun Hyun-bin doubled into center and, taking advantage of a misplay by Kiwoom center fielder Park Ju-hong, advanced to third. Kang Baek-ho then drove him in with an RBI double to left-center.
Hanwha kept pressure on in the fourth. Back-to-back hits from Peraza and Mun set up runners at second and third, and Kang added an infield RBI. Noh Si-hwan then delivered another big blow off Bae Dong-hyun, pushing the score to 8-0.

Kiwoom staged a late fightback. In the bottom of the fourth, An Chi-hong and Choi Joo-hwan opened the inning with hits off Ryu Hyun-jin to create a 2-3 opportunity, and Trenton Brooks’ sacrifice fly produced Kiwoom’s first run. In the fifth, a single by Seo Geon-chang, a walk to Lim Byung-wook and an opponent wild pitch set up another 2-3 chance, and An Chi-hong drove in two to pull Kiwoom back within reach.
Hanwha answered in the sixth. Ryu Hyun-jin exited after five innings, and Kang Baek-ho greeted reliever Kim Seo-jun by driving a 148 km/h fastball (about 92.0 mph) over the center-field wall for a solo homer — his eighth of the season — restoring a 9-3 lead. Kiwoom later chipped away with Seo Geon-chang’s RBI single with the bases loaded, but the margin stayed at five.
The teams traded a run in the eighth, which did little to alter momentum. Mun Hyun-bin delivered an insurance hit in the ninth, and Hanwha closed out an 11-5 victory to extend their winning streak to three games.
