On April 8 at Seoul's Jamsil Baseball Stadium, Doosan defeated Kiwoom 7-3 in a 2026 Shinhan SOL Bank KBO League home game.
The victory moved Doosan to 3 wins, 1 tie and 6 losses, while Kiwoom fell to 3-7.
Doosan starter Choi Min-seok delivered his first win of the season, tossing 5 2/3 scoreless innings, allowing three hits, striking out six and issuing five walks.
At the plate, Park Jun-soon collected multiple hits, and Yang Eui-ji reached base several times and drove in two runs to help power the win.
Kiwoom starter Jung Se-young took the loss after four innings, giving up four hits, one strikeout, three walks and five runs (three earned).
Doosan set the tone early. In the bottom of the first, Park Chan-ho singled and, after Jung Soo-bin's sacrifice bunt put a runner on second with one out, Park Jun-soon ripped an RBI single to right for the game's first run.
With one out and a runner on first, Yang Eui-ji followed with a double into left-center, scoring Park and pushing the lead to 2-0.
While Kiwoom couldn't solve Choi, Doosan kept building the lead. In the bottom of the fourth, Kim Min-seok reached on a throwing error by the shortstop and moved to second on a wild pitch.
With one out and a runner on second, Kang Seung-ho delivered a single to center and an errant throw from the outfielder allowed Kim to score. Later, with one out and a runner on third, Yoon Jun-ho hit a sacrifice fly to right to make it 4-0.
Doosan sustained the momentum. In the bottom of the fifth, Park Chan-ho and Jung Soo-bin drew walks to put runners on first and second with no outs. Park Jun-soon stroked a grounder to short that did not turn into a double play, leaving one out with runners on first and third.
With one out and runners at the corners, Yang hit a sacrifice fly to center, extending the lead to 5-0.
Doosan put the game out of reach in the seventh. Park Jun-soon doubled, Yang drew a walk, and Cameron was hit by a pitch to load the bases. A wild pitch by Jeon Jun-pyo brought in another run.
With no outs and runners on second and third, Kim Min-seok followed with an RBI single to push the score to 7-0.
After being quiet through seven innings, Kiwoom mounted a rally in the top of the eighth. Lee Joo-hyung tripled and Choi Joo-hwan followed with an RBI single to cut the deficit to 7-1. Then, with one out and a runner on first, Lee Hyung-jong launched a two-run homer to pull Kiwoom within 7-3.
But Doosan, in control of the game, turned to Kim Taek-yeon in the top of the ninth. Kim worked a scoreless inning to close out the victory.
