Miami Heat's Bam Adebayo has etched his name in franchise history, becoming only the second player to surpass 10,000 career points with the team.

On March 9th, Adebayo put up an impressive stat line of 24 points, 9 rebounds, and 6 assists in a home game against the Detroit Pistons at the Kaseya Center in Miami, Florida.

This performance pushed Adebayo's total points scored for the Heat to 10,011, solidifying his place as the second-highest scorer in the team's history.

The only other player to reach this milestone for Miami is franchise icon Dwyane Wade, who amassed 21,556 points during his tenure with the Heat from 2003-2016 and again in 2018-2019. Wade was instrumental in leading the team to three NBA championships in 2006, 2012, and 2013.

Adebayo, who joined the Heat as the 14th overall pick in the 2017 NBA Draft, has now followed in Wade's footsteps by crossing the 10,000-point threshold.

Currently in his seventh season with Miami, Adebayo has evolved into a cornerstone of the franchise and now serves as the team captain.

Reflecting on his achievement, Adebayo said, "This milestone is a testament to how much I've grown as a player. It's an incredible honor to join a legend like Wade in the record books."

Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra praised Adebayo's development, stating, "Bam wasn't initially known for his scoring, but he's worked tirelessly to become the offensive threat he is today. His scoring ability is now crucial to our team's success."

In the game where Adebayo reached this milestone, the Heat defeated the Eastern Conference-leading Pistons 121-110. Tyler Herro also contributed significantly with 25 points and 6 rebounds.

This victory extended Miami's winning streak to five games, improving their record to 36-29 and putting them within striking distance of the sixth-placed Orlando Magic (35-28).

Meanwhile, the Pistons suffered their fourth consecutive loss, dropping to 45-18. This slump has allowed the second-place Boston Celtics (43-21) to close the gap to just 2.5 games in the standings.
