On the 15th (Korean time), Bae entered as a substitute in the 2026 Major League Baseball (MLB) spring training game against the Houston Astros at Cactus Park at The Palm Beaches in West Palm Beach, Florida, and went 1-for-1.
After a multi-hit outing against the St. Louis Cardinals on the 11th, Bae’s single on Thursday boosted his spring training average to .294 (5-for-17) and his OPS to .871.
Bae was inserted as a defensive replacement for center fielder Carson Benji at the start of the bottom of the sixth and came to the plate in the top of the eighth.
Facing Houston right-hander Peter Lambert, Bae took a first-pitch ball and then lined a fastball on the second pitch into right field for a single.
He was unable to advance when the next batter, Christian Arroyo, hit into a double play toward the shortstop.
Despite collecting 11 hits in the game, the Mets managed just two runs and fell 2-8.
