On May 8 at 7 p.m. KST, Kiwoom DRX fell 0-2 to Gen.G at the Hanoi Exhibition Center (VEC) in Round 2 of the 2026 LCK regular season. The loss snapped their momentum and dropped Kiwoom to 3-8 overall.
The match functioned as Kiwoom DRX's home-front game and marked the first time an LCK regular-season match was staged overseas. Kiwoom DRX will meet Hanwha Life on the 10th.
After the game, Jo told reporters, "This was our first match in Vietnam. I'm sorry we couldn't put on a better performance. We'll shore up our weaknesses and aim to deliver a strong showing on the final day." He added, "We didn't press when we had the chance. We traded a lot in skirmishes and couldn't fight where we wanted to."
Jo, who said he felt the fans' passion in Vietnam, admitted frustration. "We wanted to repay them with a win, but we lost. I'm more frustrated than ever," he said. "Kiwoom DRX's identity is aggressive and teamfight-oriented, but we ended up trying to play like Gen.G and paid the price." He closed by promising improvement: "I felt my hands loosen up during today's game. We'll put on a better performance against Hanwha Life."
'Willer' Kim Jeong-hyun echoed the disappointment. "We played in front of many Vietnamese fans. I'm sorry and frustrated that our performance didn't match their support."
On the turnout, Kim noted, "I competed at an Asian esports event in Vietnam last November — the crowd was passionate then, too. This time the scale is bigger and many more fans showed up. You can really feel the LCK's growing popularity."
