The KBO's 2026 season set another attendance record.
The KBO announced April 25 that 99,905 fans attended games across five stadiums, pushing the season total to 2,094,481.
The league reached the 2 million mark in just 117 regular-season games — one game sooner than last year’s 118 — marking the fastest climb to 2 million spectators in league history.
On the day in question, Jamsil Stadium drew 23,750 fans; Gwangju’s Kia Champions Field drew 20,500; Gocheok Sky Dome hosted 16,000; and Daejeon’s Hanwha Life Ballpark drew 17,000 — each selling out. Incheon’s SSG Landers Field, which seats 23,000, was nearly full with 22,655 attendees.
Average attendance per game this season is 17,902, up 7.9% from 16,596 over the same stretch last year. The KBO now looks likely to surpass 10 million total fans for a third consecutive season.
At home, the LG Twins — who have played the most home games (14) — lead with 331,872 total fans. The Samsung Lions follow with 306,709, then the Hanwha Eagles with 221,000, the Doosan Bears with 219,896, and the Lotte Giants with 200,392.
The Kiwoom Heroes sit ninth with 142,981 fans but have posted the biggest year-over-year gain, up 39% from the same period last year.
LG also leads in average home attendance at 23,705 per game, followed closely by Samsung (23,593), Doosan (21,990) and Lotte (20,039).
Through 117 games, 65 — or 56% — have sold out. Hanwha has sold out all 13 of its home games, achieving 100% seat occupancy. LG has sold out 13 of 14 home games, Doosan eight times and Samsung seven.
