The Taean International Horticultural Healing Expo Organizing Committee (the committee) launched the \"Delicious Horticultural Healing\" series with star chefs on May 3 — and it turned into an instant hit.
According to the committee, when Chef Jeong Ji‑seon’s Lavender Raw Changfen went on sale, crowds rushed in and it sold out in just 15 minutes.
They prepared 150 servings for the noon session and 150 for the afternoon; both batches vanished almost as soon as each session began, leaving late arrivals disappointed.
The series runs across four Sundays — May 3, 10, 17 and 24 — with a different chef featured each week.
On May 10, Chef Oh Se‑deuk will serve Kaiserschmarrn topped with jasmine and coconut cream. On May 17, Chef Lim Hee‑won will present a Taean honey sweet potato sulppang tiramisu, and on May 24, Chef Kim Seong‑woon will offer Popo Farm arugula kimbap.
Each serving costs 5,000 KRW (approximately $3.75). Sales are capped at 300 servings per day, with 150 available at noon and 150 at 2 p.m.
\"We were surprised to sell out in about 15 minutes on opening day,\" a committee official said, adding that with a new chef and menu every Sunday, visitors should look forward to next week’s offerings.
The 2026 Taean International Horticultural Healing Expo, co‑hosted by South Chungcheong Province and Taean County, runs through May 24 at Kkotji Coastal Park on Anmyeondo in Taean County. Jeong Ji‑seon, Oh Se‑deuk, Lim Hee‑won and Kim Seong‑woon are acting as the expo’s ambassadors.
