Last weekend, local officials who visited the Taean International Horticultural Healing Expo at Taean Ggotji Coastal Park were full of praise.
One eagle-eyed official said the visit exceeded expectations.
Official A said, “We went on a weekend just hoping to get some fresh air with the kids and didn’t expect much. The weather was perfect, the sea breeze was refreshing, and the flowers were gorgeous—so much better than I imagined.”
They added, “Because the theme is horticultural healing, I assumed it would mainly attract older visitors and that kids might get bored. But there were hands-on activities for children everywhere and plenty of photo spots. I planned to be there only in the morning, thinking we’d breeze through, but there was so much to see that we stayed into the afternoon.”
They especially noted, “I thought it would be quiet, but it was pleasantly busy. The photo zones and special pavilions were lovely. It’s a perfect choice for an easy day trip if you can carve out the time.”

Another official, B, said they appreciated how much work must have gone into the setup and praised how beautifully the flowers complemented the ocean.
“The flowers, the sea, and the healing theme came together so well,” they said. “The activity booths the kids tried were a big hit.”

Official C said the beachfront views and outdoor gardens filled with blooms were especially striking, and they singled out the special pavilion’s media art as a highlight.
“The Healing Agriculture Pavilion had a thoughtful mix of exhibits and hands-on elements,” they said. “Joining the programs made the idea of healing agriculture feel much more vivid than just watching displays.”
On the downside, they pointed out that the on-site restaurant got crowded and had only one cashier, which made peak times feel chaotic.
They also noted that drinks were hard to find and advised visitors to bring cold water or coffee.
Others recommended Ggotji Hall for meals and strongly endorsed the food truck’s fried ginseng.
Visitors also appreciated the scattered rest areas and shaded spots, which made eating and taking short breaks comfortable.
The 2026 Taean International Horticultural Healing Expo, jointly hosted by Chungcheongnam-do and Taean County, runs through May 24 at Anmyeondo’s Ggotji Coastal Park in Taean County.
