On the episode airing on the 11th, TV CHOSUN’s variety show Dad and Me Season 3 (hereafter Dad and Me) follows Hyun Joo-yeop and his son as they set out before dawn for the West Sea (the Yellow Sea). Jun-hee says he’s happy and excited to be traveling again after a long time and is especially looking forward to fishing. Even while listening to an “old songs” playlist his father chose, Jun-hee hums along and keeps a cheerful mood. When they reach the coast, Hyun takes his son to a restaurant to make sure he’s well fed; both men quickly show healthy appetites, even asking for extra bowls of rice and putting on an enthusiastic eating display.
After the meal, Hyun introduces his acquaintance: Hong Myung-wan, a former ssireum (traditional Korean wrestling) athlete who now captains an anchovy boat. Hong greets Jun-hee warmly and sets a serious tone, saying, “We have to give it our all today. Where’s your workwear?” That’s when it becomes clear Hyun didn’t plan a leisure trip at all but Jun-hee’s first part-time job. Hyun says he set up the tough assignment because Jun-hee spends too much time in bed and doesn’t seem to appreciate money; he wanted his son to learn the value of work and earnings, hinting at an arduous, hands-on experience ahead. On his last birthday, Jun-hee reportedly blew his 100,000 KRW (75 USD) allowance on games in a single sitting. Unable to accept his son’s spending habits, Hyun reacted strongly, and the two have previously clashed over allowance issues.
When Jun-hee realizes the true purpose of the trip, he says he feels genuinely betrayed and his expression hardens. Co-host Jeon Hyun-moo criticizes Hyun, saying, “You shouldn’t lie, not ever,” while Subin calls it “the worst” in disbelief. Jeon worries the stunt could drive a wedge between father and son and fears it might trigger another walkout like the one that happened before. Han Hye-jin also expresses concern about what Hyun’s well-intentioned deception might unleash.
Both Jun-hee and the man who engineered the plan, Hyun, are sent to the job site. Facing relentless labor, the pair quickly lose their smiles, and only groans echo between them. Hyun says he expected only Jun-hee to work and was stunned when they told him he’d have to help; he ends up joining his son in the hard labor.
This 2026 iteration of the hands-on labor experience—where a father and son who set out for a getaway find themselves trapped in nonstop work—will air on Dad and Me Season 3 on the 11th at 10 p.m.
