[TV Daily reporter Han Seoyul] Pop star Rihanna has left Los Angeles after a frightening shooting that targeted her home.

On March 9 (local time), U.S. outlets including TMZ and the Daily Mail reported that Rihanna arrived at Van Nuys Airport under heavy escort and departed that afternoon on a private jet.

The incident unfolded on March 8 while Rihanna was staying at her Beverly Hills residence. According to reports, a woman in her 30s identified only as A fired about 10 rounds from an AR‑15–style rifle from a vehicle. One bullet penetrated the exterior wall of the home, and impact marks were found on the gate and surrounding walls.

Officers who responded to the call apprehended the fleeing suspect and arrested A on attempted‑murder charges. Authorities set her bail at $10.2 million (about 13.6 billion KRW).

Investigators say A repeatedly posted chilling threats and videos about Rihanna on social media before the shooting. In a YouTube video, she even made the bizarre claim that “Hannah is trying to kill me.” Authorities have not publicly established a clear motive.

No one was injured, but Rihanna was reportedly shaken and has tightened security. She left the house with her family the day after the incident and postponed a scheduled photo shoot.

The property sits in an exclusive Beverly Hills enclave where stars such as Adele, Taylor Swift, Jennifer Aniston and actor Lee Byung‑hun have bought or lived in homes. Beverly Hills is famed for its privacy and high level of security. Rihanna purchased the house in 2021 for $13.8 million (about 18.4 billion KRW).

Rihanna's camp said it was frightening that such an incident could still occur despite having a strong security team, and confirmed she left Los Angeles with her family.

Rihanna and her fiancé A$AP Rocky have two sons and a daughter. She welcomed sons in 2022 and 2023 and a daughter last September. Though she remained active after the births, she is expected to pause public activities to focus on family safety following this incident.
