[SPOTV News=Reporter Choi Sin-ae] Allegations of sexual misconduct against translator Hwang Seok-hee have resurfaced, drawing renewed attention to the tvN talk show You Quiz on the Block.
Hwang appeared on the program in 2022. Although the episode aired four years ago, the clip drew a surge of views on March 30, with online users leaving shocked comments such as “I came to see this,” “So this was the person,” and other reactions reflecting widespread surprise.
The show has faced scrutiny before over its selection of non-celebrity guests, and the public is now calling on You Quiz producers to tighten vetting procedures for everyday participants.
Past controversies include a 2020 couple dubbed “Car Girl and Car Boy,” who were criticized for fabricating wealth, and volleyball players Lee Jae-young and Lee Da-young, whose appearances were followed by renewed allegations of school bullying. More recently, a contestant from Black & White Chef 2, chef Lim Seong-geun, faced backlash over drunk driving. In each of those instances, the You Quiz production team ultimately removed the affected segments.

According to the report, Hwang received suspended sentences in 2005 on charges including forcible sexual assault causing injury and assault, and in 2014 on a charge of quasi-rape.
On his personal account, Hwang said he is reviewing the matter with his attorney and that he will consider requesting corrections or pursuing legal action if the reports contain inaccuracies, unverified claims, or statements that exceed the bounds of legal judgment.
