On the April 11 broadcast of MBC's The Manager, Jimovie — a movie-review creator with 3.97 million subscribers — made a guest appearance.
He explained why he'd kept his face off-camera: \"I wanted viewers to focus on the films. I didn't think showing my face was necessary, so I never had the chance.\" Hong Hyun-hee, seeing him in person for the first time, complimented his appearance and said he might have done well even earlier had he revealed his face. Fellow studio guest Yoon Do-hyun admitted he watches Jimovie's videos on his commute.
Jimovie said he once considered training as a flight attendant and a banker, and that he reached final interviews before failing to land the jobs. When Hong asked whether it's true he now earns four times a banker's salary from nothing, Jimovie clarified, \"My income is entirely performance-based. If I upload more, I earn more. It's not guaranteed.\"
Viewers were surprised to learn he lives in the same neighborhood as G-Dragon and BTS. Referring to news coverage of his high-priced jeonse contract, Jimovie said, \"I didn't publish any article. My real name (Na Hyun-gap) is unique, so the move became known unintentionally.\"
When host Jeon Hyun-moo asked, \"How much is it?\" Jimovie replied, \"7.7 billion KRW (approximately $5,775,000).\" He added, \"It's expensive, and of course I have a mortgage. I spend most of my time at home, so I poured most of my money into the place.\"
The program then toured Jimovie's residence. His editing room featured three main monitors, a secondary monitor, a recording microphone, four keyboards he swaps depending on preference, seven mice, and a mini refrigerator. A 99-inch TV dominates the living room.
Main editor Noh Hyung-jun drew attention when he outlined the team's generous perks. He said the operation maintains a clear work-life balance and pays incentives of up to 10 million KRW (approximately $7,500). He also revealed he received a 50 million KRW interest-free loan (approximately $37,500) on the condition he continued working through the move. The biggest benefit, he said, was a handover folder compiling Jimovie's eight years of know-how.
Jimovie said, \"My goal is to fully integrate someone into my workflow. I give feedback to groom another doppelgänger of myself.\"
