Comedian Kim Kyung-wook called R&B singer Crush his benefactor.
In an episode of the YouTube series 'Jjanhan-hyung Shin Dong-yeop' released the afternoon of the 30th, TV personality Sayuri and comedian Kim Kyung-wook appeared and met hosts Shin Dong-yeop and Jung Ho-chul.
The conversation turned to Kim’s alter ego, Tanaka. Kim said he’d created the character years ago but that it only became popular later — and he credited Crush with helping spark that rise.
He said, "Actually, Crush opened the door for Tanaka to become active. To be honest, Tanaka comes from Japan’s underground scene — his job is a host," he added candidly.

He went on to note that even when people liked that kind of content, they were hesitant to admit it publicly. But during the COVID lockdowns, Crush reportedly described Tanaka as "the only content that helped me through self-isolation and kept me from feeling lonely."
Kim said he messaged Crush as soon as he saw that: "Do you like Tanaka? I need to check this out." They met shortly afterward to film, and that led to a recurring segment in which a celebrity sits next to Tanaka.
Kim expressed his gratitude, saying, "I have many people I owe, but Crush is my benefactor." Shin Dong-yeop responded that’s something one should never forget. Kim then joked that he even emceed Crush’s manager’s wedding, prompting laughter
