On March 19, MBC Every1's 'Welcome, First Time in Korea?' returned after a format overhaul. The show expanded beyond its previous host-invite structure so that any foreigner who loves Korea can take center stage. Its first featured traveler is Paco, known as a familiar figure around the Eiffel Tower.
The redesigned studio was the first thing to grab the cast's attention. With a detailed set that resembled an airport terminal, MCs Kim Jun-hyun and DinDin kept marveling, \"It really feels like we're at an airport,\" and, \"We came to record, but it feels like we're going on a trip.\"
The original MC duo—Kim Jun-hyun and DinDin—slotted back in seamlessly. Veteran host Kim Jun-hyun steadied the show with his easygoing delivery, while returning founding member DinDin injected energy with his trademark quick wit. Their chemistry erased any sense of a long hiatus and kept the room laughing.
The trio of French experts set to enrich Paco's journey also exceeded expectations. Among them, Professor Jeong Il-young—who drew more than 6 million views after appearing on YouTuber Chimchakman's channel—brought sharp, entertaining insights into French culture that had the studio in stitches.
Fabian, who recently earned his tour guide-interpreter certification, returned to television after a year and a half, to the audience's delight. He said he spent the past year focused on study, and he brought a depth of historical and cultural knowledge that even surpassed many locals, adding real texture to Paco's trip.
Robin, who married last year, joined the cast looking noticeably more relaxed. Fabian and Robin good-naturedly admitted, \"We used to be the most famous Frenchmen in Korea, but it seems Paco has overtaken us,\" while also pointing out subtle cultural differences that only fellow Frenchmen would catch—moments that kept the taping lively, sources said.
With its lively, on-location feel and the French experts' precise cultural perspectives, MBC Every1's 'Welcome, First Time in Korea?' promises an even more engaging run. The episode airs March 19 at 8:30 p.m.
