On March 31, the show's producers told Sports Today they had decided to pull the episode and were in the process of making the related clips private.
On March 30, Dispatch reported that Hwang had received suspended sentences in 2005 and 2014 on charges that included forcible indecent assault causing injury, bodily injury and quasi-rape. The revelation of three prior convictions sparked public outrage.
Following the report, viewers inundated clips of Hwang's past appearances on tvN's You Quiz on the Block and MBC's The Manager with critical comments. As public anger intensified, broadcasters moved to remove traces of Hwang from their platforms.
Hwang later issued a statement saying, \"My lawyers and I are currently reviewing the matter.\" He added that he would consider requesting corrections or taking legal action if the reports contain inaccuracies, unverified claims or statements that exceed the bounds of legal judgment.
