Ulsan's Dong‑gu district announced that, starting April 4, it will hand out commemorative finisher badges to the first 1,000 people who complete the Haeparang‑gil certification program.
This year's badge is inspired by the Jujeon beacon that sits atop Bongdae Mountain on Course 9 of the Haeparang‑gil.
To qualify, use the "Follow" feature in the Korea Trail Guide app, Durunubi, to finish either Course 8 or Course 9 of the Haeparang‑gil, then stop by the Haeparang rest area at Ilsan Beach.
Badges are limited to one per person; even participants from last season are welcome to join again.
Pick up your badge at the Dong‑gu Haeparang rest area. The rest area is open weekdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. (closed for lunch noon–1 p.m.) and weekends from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
A Dong‑gu official noted that April—when rapeseed and cherry blossoms are in full bloom—brings increased demand for walking trips along the Haeparang‑gil. "We hope many visitors come to Dong‑gu this spring and make special memories along the beautiful coastal trail," the official added.
