On May 9, French outlets including QuestFrance reported that PSG has temporarily paused negotiations. The club is still vying for the Ligue 1 title and a Champions League crown—beating Arsenal in the final would secure back-to-back European titles. Coach Luis Enrique opted to suspend contract talks to keep the squad focused for these crucial matches.
Reports say Lee Kang-in, Dembélé and Barcola—who began discussing new deals earlier this season—are under contract through 2028, and no further meetings are planned before the Champions League final. Sources described the pause as positive for both sides: delaying talks until after a potential title run could strengthen the players’ bargaining positions, while PSG remains confident it can still lock in long-term contracts afterward.
Lee Kang-in has been at the center of transfer speculation. FootMercato and other French outlets reported last month that PSG offered him a new contract but received no response. They added that PSG values Lee’s contributions and would like to keep him as an impact substitute, and the club is working to persuade him to re-sign. Although PSG reached the Champions League final for a second straight season, Lee missed both semifinal matches against Bayern Munich.
