[MyDaily = Reporter Kim Jong-guk] Son Heung-min played the full match, but LAFC were thrashed at home by Houston.

On May 11 (KST), LAFC fell 4-1 to the Houston Dynamo in Round 12 of the 2026 MLS season in Los Angeles. The loss extended LAFC's winless run to three competitive matches and marked the second straight game in which they conceded four goals, coming after a 0-4 defeat to Toluca in the CONCACAF Champions Cup semifinal. LAFC now sit third in the Western Conference with a 6-3-3 record (21 points).

Son had two shots blocked by Houston defenders. Under MLS rules that allow up to two credited assists, Son was initially listed as the provider for Ordas's consolation goal, but the official assist was later corrected to Eustaquio, who touched the ball just before the finish.

With Bouanga suspended due to accumulated yellow cards, LAFC started Ordas as the lone forward. Chapelberg, Son Heung-min and Martinez led the attack, Delgado and Eustaquio anchored the midfield, and Segura, Tapari, Porteous and Palencia formed the back line. Yoris was in goal.

Houston opened the scoring in the 25th minute when McGlin finished from the left edge of the box after a pass from teammate Ennali, his left-footed shot finding the top corner.

They doubled the lead in the 34th minute when Guilherme stepped up to take a free kick from just outside the center of the penalty area and curled a right-footed shot into the bottom corner.

LAFC pulled one back just before halftime when Ordas found the net in the 45th minute. Chapelberg made a penetrating run down the left and delivered a low cross that reached the front of the goal via Eustaquio; Ordas finished with a left-footed strike.

Houston pushed the margin back to two early in the second half. Six minutes in, Bogushi followed up after Yoris parried a right-footed shot and slotted home with his left.

McGlin completed his brace in the 55th minute, connecting with a pass from Ennali to the right of the penalty area and rifling a left-footed finish into the net. The match ended as a convincing victory for Houston.

After the game, LAFC coach Dos Santos told the Los Angeles Times and other outlets that the team \"seemed to lack the energy or the ability to handle their three forwards whenever we lost possession. The players are working hard. Their attitude and mentality are good. But there are moments when they run out of energy. I feel that in the stadium too. It shows we're going through a really difficult period right now,\" he said.

LAFC have three matches left before the CONCACAF World Cup break. Dos Santos stressed the importance of picking up points before the break and expressed confidence that the upcoming rest period will be beneficial for the team.
