On the afternoon of the 5th, in front of a crosswalk near an elementary school in Galma-dong, Seo-gu, Daejeon, an elementary school student was seen running precariously along the roadside past a low-hung campaign banner. Regulations restrict banner placement near crosswalks and bus stops or require a minimum clearance (the bottom edge must be at least 2.5 m [about 8.2 ft] above the ground). Banners installed below that standard can block young pedestrians' sight lines and impede safe passage, raising serious safety concerns.
