The 3rd Daejeon Queer Culture Festival, titled "Sarang-Iju — Love at Full Volume," was held on the afternoon of the 25th in Soje-dong, Dong District, Daejeon.

The festival, staged in Daejeon for the third consecutive year, featured an opening ceremony and a series of booth exhibitions.

Forty-two groups participated this year. Participants were scheduled to begin a march through the city's historic downtown at 6 p.m.

Across the road, some 90 conservative groups held a rally opposing the Queer Culture Festival.

Police deployed about 750 officers, including reinforcements from the Chungnam Provincial Police Agency, to manage road closures and public safety during the event.
