[MyDaily = Reporter Kim Geon-ho] Manchester United is targeting Elliot Anderson (Nottingham Forest).
The Sun reported on March 30 (Korea time) that United have identified Anderson as a top summer priority amid a fierce battle with cross-town rivals Manchester City, although many see City as the frontrunner to sign the Nottingham midfielder.
Reinforcing midfield is United’s primary task this summer. The club has been linked with multiple options since last summer, and veteran Casemiro’s departure has made strengthening the center an urgent issue.
Newcastle’s Sandro Tonali had been strongly linked with United, with reports saying the club even spoke to Tonali’s agent. But The Sun suggests United would prefer Anderson to Tonali.
Anderson made 41 appearances for Nottingham this season and has emerged as a key figure in their midfield. He has also earned his England debut and has been a regular in the senior squad.

GiveMeSport has described Anderson as one of the world’s top talents, naming him United’s top transfer target and reporting that club officials are prepared to structure their entire transfer strategy around signing him this window.
The outlet added that City currently appear to be leading the race and that Anderson is thought to favor a move to City. Still, United’s hierarchy view him as an ideal target. GiveMeSport also suggested City might not act unless Rodri signals he will leave before the final year of his contract.
Nottingham have set Anderson’s price at £80 million (about 101 billion KRW; approximately $66,660,000). United, however, appear unfazed. GiveMeSport wrote that the club has not been deterred by the fee, that it is pursuing other deals in parallel, and that Anderson remains the top priority. The report added that United want to sign two midfielders this summer and prefer players already proven in the English Premier League.
