[CBC News] On the afternoon of March 29, Yongin City issued a disaster text message reporting that a logistics warehouse had caught fire.
Yongin City said, "At 5:39 p.m. today, a fire broke out at 697-2 Bakgok-ri, Baekam-myeon, Cheoin-gu, Yongin. Nearby residents should move away from the scene, and drivers should use alternate routes."
Fire authorities raised the response to Level 1 at about 5:42 p.m. The logistics warehouse is a single-story, reinforced-concrete building with a total floor area of roughly 5,300 square meters (about 57,100 sq ft). Officials say roughly 30 pieces of equipment and about 100 firefighters have been deployed to battle the blaze.
Earlier, Hongseong County sent a disaster text warning that the current dry conditions have sharply increased the risk of wildfires. The county urged strict control of embers when using wood-burning boilers and prohibited discarding cigarette butts and open burning near forested areas.
