A video showing a man hurling insults and verbally abusing an elderly passenger with a leg impairment aboard a train has prompted public outrage.

JTBC's program 'Sagunbanjang' reported on the incident on the 12th, saying the footage was recorded on the Gyeongui–Jungang Line at about 4:30 p.m. on the 9th. A tipster identified only as A provided the video to the program.

The clip shows a man in a black shirt repeatedly shouting at an older man who was seated and using a cane. The victim appeared to have difficulty walking.

The aggressor complained about the seat boundary and berated the older passenger. According to the footage, he shouted, \"Move over! There's a line here, you XXX, can't you see? Move further over, XXXX,\" using profanities and a raised voice.

The abuse continued for roughly five minutes. Witnesses say a young couple who had been observing intervened, and only then did the situation de-escalate.

After the disturbance, the elderly passenger got off at the next station. The man who yelled at him reportedly remained on the train.

The tipster said he did not know whether the elder had intended to disembark there, but that the man left immediately after being harassed. He added that the abuser stayed on the train.

\"It was heartbreaking to see this the day after Parents' Day,\" the tipster said.
