The city said it held an appointment ceremony and convened a meeting for the 5th Sejong Social Economy Development Committee in the Jiphyeon Room at City Hall on the 23rd.
Established under the Sejong City Ordinance on Support for Social Economy Development, the committee has operated as a public–private partnership since 2018. It reviews and advises on social economy policies and outlines strategies to strengthen the local social and solidarity economy.
The newly appointed fifth-term committee comprises 14 members, including leaders of social-economy organizations, subject-matter experts, and representatives of affiliated institutions. Members will serve two-year terms through March 2028.
Aligned with the central government's emphasis on revitalizing the social and solidarity economy, the committee will develop Sejong-specific development strategies. It will propose policy measures and build consensus to address local challenges and establish a foundation for sustainable growth.
A city official said, \"The social and solidarity economy is a core pillar for addressing local problems and advancing sustainable development. We will support the committee so social-economy organizations can grow steadily and coexist with the local community.\"
