Mokpo City announced on March 17 that it will hold a public hearing with residents at 3 p.m. on March 20 in the multipurpose auditorium of the Kim Dae-jung Nobel Peace Prize Memorial Hall to discuss how the crematorium at Mokpo Memorial Park will be operated.

The hearing aims to gather residents' views on crematorium operations and to present the main findings and direction of the ongoing research study.

Through the ongoing study, the city intends to develop an operating framework tailored to Mokpo and to identify an optimal model that balances public interest with operational efficiency.

A Mokpo City official said, "Because the crematorium is a public facility closely tied to residents' daily lives, it is important to fully reflect citizens' opinions in the decision-making process. We will develop an objective and reasonable operating plan based on the various views raised at the public hearing."

The city plans to incorporate feedback gathered at the hearing into the study to improve the crematorium's operational efficiency and boost resident satisfaction.
