[Sports Seoul | Reporter Pyo Kwon-hyang] To mark Disability Day, LG Uplus hosted the "LG Inclusive Day — Accessibility and Disability Awareness Lunch Concert" on the 17th at the ISC Conference Hall in LG Science Park, Magok, Seoul. The program was co-organized with LG Electronics and designed for company employees.
About 300 employees attended, and partner organizations Milal Welfare Foundation and Paradise Welfare Foundation joined to present performances, exhibits, and hands-on demonstrations.
The lunch concert featured the BridgeOn Chamber Orchestra from the Milal Welfare Foundation, composed of musicians with developmental disabilities. The performance sought to foster a more natural understanding of disability through arts and culture.
At LG Electronics' accessibility solutions exhibit, the company showcased the AI home hub LG ThinQ ON and other IoT devices; a Comfort Kit to simplify appliance use; Appliance School, an easy‑read guide on safe appliance operation; and Bold Move magazine, which explains the accessibility philosophy embedded in its products and services.
Employees took part in hands-on activities — making braille keyrings and trying an optical character recognition device for the visually impaired, voice-assisted aids, and AR glasses for people with low vision — gaining practical insight into daily life with disabilities.
Paradise Welfare Foundation staffed an AI-based assistive technology demonstration booth for the second consecutive year, highlighting the information-access barriers people with disabilities face and promoting the value of inclusive, technology-driven accessibility.
LG Uplus will host another Accessibility and Disability Awareness Lunch Concert at its Yongsan headquarters on the 21st.
Jung Gyu-tae, director of the Milal Cultural and Arts Center, said, "By combining performances and hands-on experiences, this event helped change perceptions about disability in a more organic way. I hope this program, held on Disability Day, resonates meaningfully with our employees."
