The Freight Solidarity division of the Public Transport and Service Workers’ Union, part of the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions (KCTU), held a large rally on April 25 in Jinju, South Gyeongsang Province. The demonstration was organized to demand accountability following the recent death of a union member and to announce an all-out campaign. The rally took place in front of the Jinju logistics center, where participants called for restitution of the deceased member’s reputation and a responsible response from company management. Organizers estimated that about 9,000 union members attended. The union said it would place its regional branches on a heightened mobilization footing and mobilize all members for emergency action. It also warned that, depending on the outcome of negotiations, it could escalate to a full-scale confrontation. Police deployed roughly 1,500 officers to the scene to prevent incidents and prepare for any contingencies. #KCTU #Jinju #AllOutStruggle Yonhap News TV — Tips and inquiries: KakaoTalk/LINE jebo23.
