Italian luxury lifestyle brand Loro Piana will participate in Milan Design Week 2026, running April 21–26, where it will unveil an interior design project titled "Studies."

The project continues a series of case-study explorations that focus on the building blocks of interior design. In Chapter I: On the Plaid, the brand elevates the plaid from a simple product to a subject of inquiry—exploring it as a convergence of material, technique, and cultural meaning.

The exhibition is open to the public at the Milan headquarters' Cortile della Seta. Visitors follow a single, curated route and encounter 24 plaids, each revealing distinct qualities through its weaving method, pattern, and finish.

More than finished pieces, the show presents fibers, yarns, and stages of production to spotlight craft. Techniques on display include embroidery, appliqué, vertical-loom weaving, needle punching, patchwork, and screen printing, offering an intimate look at process and skill.

The scenography unfolds along a curved circulation path. It begins with scenes inspired by natural landscapes and then transitions into the brand’s visual motifs and abstract interpretations.

The installation is organized into five thematic sections: Loro Piana Sceneries, Codes of the House, Botanic Repertoire, Cardo Paisley, and Textured Abstractions. Together they explore the brand’s materials, techniques, and dialogue with nature.

The collection highlights signature materials such as vicuña, baby cashmere, and cashmere, alongside specialties like The Gift of Kings and Loro Piana Royal Lightness, plus linens, wools, and other fabrics. Each work is offered as a made-to-order piece.
