KT beat LG 6-5 at Jamsil Baseball Stadium on March 29 in the 2026 Shinhan SOL Bank KBO League.
The win pushed KT to 2-0 after the season opener on March 28, while LG will have to wait for its first win of the year.
Heo was the driving force in the lineup. Starting at third base and hitting seventh, he crushed a two-run, game-tying homer in the sixth inning and finished 3-for-3 with three RBIs and a run scored to help seal the victory.
After the game, Heo said he focused on doing his job because his teammates are talented, and that mindset paid off. “Everyone did their job well, and that’s why we won,” he said.
Heo was solid on defense as well, making plays that prevented the club from surrendering more runs.
“I always view defense as even more important than offense,” he said. “Defense can suddenly break down, and it can swing the momentum.”
“Today a line drive came my way and I was able to make the play. I wanted to help our pitchers as much as possible,” he added.
KT’s roster this season includes rookies such as Lee Kang-min and new additions like Kim Hyun-soo.
“We brought in a lot of new players this year, but they’re all proven performers and we prepared together, so it doesn’t feel unfamiliar. If we continue to gel, I think we can get where we want to be,” Heo said.
