[Sports Today reporter Kang Tae-gu] Kim Min-jae (Bayern Munich) was brought on late but couldn’t change the outcome as Bayern were held to a 1-1 draw.

Bayern were held 1-1 by Bayer Leverkusen at the BayArena on March 14 (KST) in Round 26 of the 2025-26 Bundesliga season.

The draw left Bayern on 67 points, still top of the table, but their lead over Borussia Dortmund (58 points) was cut to nine.

Kim, who began on the bench, entered in the 88th minute alongside left back Konrad Laimer and logged roughly 12 minutes, including stoppage time.

Leverkusen struck first. In the sixth minute, Aleis Garcia finished from the right side of the box with a right-footed shot to put the hosts ahead.

Bayern thought they had equalized in the 26th minute when Jonathan Tah headed in from a free kick, but VAR overturned the goal for handball.

The match grew more chaotic for both sides. In the 42nd minute of the first half, Nicolas Jackson was sent off after an on-field review for a foul on Martin Terrier.

Trailing 0-1 at halftime, Bayern appeared to level in the 61st minute when Harry Kane followed up to score after blocking the keeper’s clearance, but VAR ruled the build-up involved a handball and the goal was disallowed.

Bayern finally brought the game back on the 24th minute of the second half—Luis Díaz finished a counterattack with a right-footed shot to make it 1-1.

The match turned again late. In the 84th minute, after receiving a pass from Kane, Díaz cut inside on the left of the box and went down under a challenge from the goalkeeper. The referee judged it simulation, booked Díaz, and that second yellow led to his dismissal.

With Bayern reduced in numbers, the team brought on Kim in the 88th minute and defended the draw to the final whistle.
