[Sports Seoul | Suwon = Jeong Da-wo, Reporter] Suwon FC emerged as the winner in the Suwon derby.

Suwon FC beat Suwon Samsung 3-1 on the 3rd at Suwon Sports Complex in Round 10 of the 2026 Hana Bank K League 2.

Suwon FC held fourth place with 17 points and snapped a four-game winless stretch (two draws, two losses).

Early on, visiting Suwon Samsung came out aggressive—pushing a high line, pressing hard and looking for the opener.

Suwon Samsung broke the deadlock in the 18th minute of the first half. From the left, Haes swung in a corner and Go Seung-beom met it on the far side of the box, rifling a powerful right-foot volley into the far corner. It was a sensational finish that ranked among the season’s best.

Go Seung-beom celebrated warmly with teammates after scoring his first goal since returning to Suwon Samsung.

Buoyed by the goal, Suwon Samsung intensified their attack. Illyuchenko, Kang Hyun-muk and Go Seung-beom kept testing the goalkeeper and hunted a second goal.

Suwon FC avoided further damage thanks to goalkeeper Jeong Min-gi’s saves. The visitors hadn’t registered a single shot in the first half and created almost no clear chances. Late in the half they held more possession and tried to build attacks, but Suwon Samsung’s defensive block repeatedly stifled them.

At halftime Suwon FC made a change, bringing Seo Jae-min on for Kim Ji-hoon and switching the left wing-back. Suwon Samsung, who had been playing well, kept the same starting eleven.

Suwon FC’s frustration evaporated four minutes into the second half. On a counter, Frizo slipped a through ball to Ha Jung-woo, who finished to level the score. A single, decisive shot shifted the momentum of a one-sided match.

After equalizing, Suwon FC kept pressing. Midfield combinations between Han Chan-hee, Frizo and Ha Jung-woo began clicking, and Suwon FC took the upper hand in the midfield battle.

Behind on the scoreboard, Suwon Samsung reacted in the 12th minute of the second half, replacing Lee Geon-hee and Kim Do-yeon with Lee Jun-jae and Park Hyun-bin. Suwon FC countered by swapping Willian for Kim Jeong-hwan to alter their attacking approach.

Suwon FC’s momentum carried on. In the 25th minute of the second half, Lee Si-young’s cutback from the right found Choi Ki-yoon, who struck a fierce left-foot half-volley. The ball clipped the crossbar and fell into the net—Suwon FC had taken the lead.

Pressed for a response, Suwon Samsung again changed personnel in the 29th minute of the second half, bringing on Kim Ji-hyun and Kim Sung-ju for Illyuchenko and Kang Hyun-muk. Suwon FC then replaced Choi Ki-yoon with 2007-born Baek Kyung.

Suwon FC put the game out of reach in the 39th minute of the second half. Ha Jung-woo collected the ball in his own half, exploded past Suwon Samsung’s defensive line with a blistering run and finished with a precise shot to make it 3-1—a practically decisive strike.

Leading 3-1, Suwon FC held firm and closed out the win. weo@sportsseoul.com
