A woman in her 20s who police say was stabbed in a parking lot near an apartment complex in Changwon, South Gyeongsang Province, died while receiving medical treatment at a hospital.
Gyeongnam Provincial Police said on the 28th that A, a woman in her 20s who had been found in cardiac arrest after being stabbed in a parking lot near an apartment in Sangnam-dong, Seongsan District, Changwon the previous day, died at about 1:25 p.m. on the 28th.
Police said their investigation indicates that B, a man in his 30s who was also found collapsed at the scene, stabbed A with a bladed weapon. B remains in critical condition.
A witness told police that the woman ran from near the apartment toward a nearby shopping area, shouting for help and pleading to be saved.
Police believe B attacked A with a knife and then immediately attempted to harm himself. Investigators are now piecing together the events, the relationship between the two, and a possible motive based on nearby CCTV footage and witness statements.
